![]() If it works outside of Steam but crashes when launched through Steam, you may need to disable the Steam Community overlay. Now when you choose "Launch GLQuake" or "Play Quake" in Steam, it'll start up the new version of DP. ![]() Make another copy and rename it to Winquake.exe. Then make a copy of the new darkplaces-sdl.exe (or darkplaces.exe, whatever works for you) and rename that copy to Glquake.exe. To be able to run the new DP through Steam, you should delete Glquake.exe and Winquake.exe - at this point those files are actually the older version of DP that you got from the UQP. darkplaces-sdl.exe is the more actively maintained variety, so try that first. You can try running them to make sure they work. Now you'll have darkplaces.exe and darkplaces-sdl.exe in your Steam Quake folder. Put all the new Dark Places files (exes and dlls) into your Steam Quake folder, and when there are conflicts (with the stuff from the UQP) just choose to overwrite/replace. Probably the "plasmagun patch" too unless it has something in it that depends on a particular version of Dark Places (seems unlikely). When the new owner starts up the Mac, they can use their own information to complete setup.You should be able to keep the soundtrack.
